We believe everyone should have the opportunity to discover what truly inspires them and experience the intangible satisfaction that occurs when what they are doing and why they are doing it are completely in sync. It became clear to us in recent months that we have a responsibility as a technology leader to increase our efforts in making this opportunity a reality for underprivileged and minority groups, creating real-world solutions to systemic challenges they face. To that end, we have established the Work Inspired Scholarship Program, in partnership with Scholarship America. This program aims to assist underprivileged and minority Utahn and Georgian students in learning what drives them and opening doors to success through expert mentorship and network building.
The special and unique part of this program is that it was not driven by the NetDocuments company alone. Our very own employees, to date, have donated more than $15,800 out of their own pockets to fund the program. NetDocuments pledged to match their donations 2 to 1, and together, the fund now totals more than $47,000.
That $47,000 will be used to award three incredible high school seniors, graduates, or current college undergraduates with $10,000 scholarships and paid internships at NetDocuments—providing them with the critical work experience, networking, and knowledge key to successful career growth throughout their future careers.
Alvin Tedjamulia, our Co-founder and CTO, says “Inspiration is the natural urge to be creative, and when you work in an inspired way your job is not just a job. It’s a natural part of yourself.” Education tears down boundaries by teaching the skills required for connecting the abstract to the absolute. We are proud to do our part in supporting young people as they work to discover new forms of inspiration and relish the work of growing the Work Inspired Scholarship Program to support even more students in the future.
